Brunch most unsatisfactory

July 10th, 2010 (03:35 pm)
current location: land of no food
current mood: Unsatisfied
current song: Bodyguard soundtrack

I was going to have beans on toast, until I checked the bread and found mould on it. Having nothing else in the house, I just had a bowl of beans. On their own. Lame.

I am unhealthily obsessed with Glee

January 24th, 2010 (05:44 pm)
current location: Home
current mood: nerdy
current song: Don't rain on my parade- funny girl OST

...No seriously, I am.I could just sit here all day rewatching and rewatching and rewatching... you get the idea. I'm sure there's lots more productive things that I could be doing instead of sitting here youtubing all of the musical numbers. I wish I could sing and dance well. I mean I do anyway, but it would be nice if I was actually good at it.

Resolutions and Revolutions

December 31st, 2009 (10:50 am)

current location: Work
current mood: sleepy
current song: Radio noise

I don't really do the whole resolution thing, usually, mostly because I am completely incapable of keeping them (what a spaz) but for 2010 I am making some loose plans of self-imporovement/life improvement.
1. Stop being such a hermit. Yes, I know brain, it's lovely to sit at home in your PJ's watching one of our hundreds of box sets wearing cardigans and slippers, but you will never meet anyone if you stay in all the time, thus leading to:
2. More of a life aim; do not end up being a spinster, eaten by cats etc. So loosely I'd like to meet someone this year. I don't mean that I'd like to meet the person I'll end up with and start popping out babies, but I would like to fall in love this year. Which means I have to go out more.
3. Be healthier. Eat better, exercise more <-Amended, I don't really exercise now, not counting walking. Thinking about classes- dance, kickboxing, whatever. This will also help me meet more people (in general as well as in terms of people I want to shag- recently I feel like all my friends are scattered all over the place, and have 1 or 2 locally...it would be nice to have the option of a group that I can hang out with if I want to). Also over Christmas I went on my cousins nintendo wii and played this 'wii dance' game which was excellent, if a bit embarrassing. (Incidentally, the members of my family that were there joined in on this and 'wii sing'. My uncle was drunk and challenged my dad to a rendition of 'Don'cha' by the Pussycat Dolls, complete with gyrations. An image I will never be able to erase). But the point of that aside was, I actually really enjoyed the exercise. Exercise = endorphin release = happiness. And that's something I could use a little (or a lot) of. Made a start on 1 this week- went out on Tuesday night to the Sheep (on a work night too- slight mistake since I stayed out til 3, but the boys were there and it was fun) My legs still ache from all the dancing.
4. Improve my mind. Read more/learn (re-learn) a language/finally get guitar lessons, doesn't matter which. Just something to keep my brain ticking over. I might read The Iliad.
5. Get a new job or start a course which will lead to a new job. One that actually utilises my degree, hopefully. This has been my resolution for the past 2 years (started here 2 and a half years ago) and I don't want to be here in 10 years saying the same thing. (I've got the fear about this happening).

New Year, improved me. Here's to being happy everyone. May your new year wishes come true and your resolutions achieveable.
